Restrained. Memorable. Ready
Not every project begins with a client sitting across the table. This Redwood City new build was designed for resale — which means designing for a family not yet known, with a life not yet imagined in the space. That constraint, rather than limiting the design, sharpened it.
The approach was restraint with personality. Shiplap paneling brings texture and warmth without committing to a moment in time. A cement tile fireplace surround introduces color and pattern at the room’s natural focal point — bold enough to be memorable, considered enough to age well. A fun wallpaper in the powder room gives that small space a strong identity, the kind of detail that prospective buyers remember long after the showing is over.
Black and white runs as a through-line — a high-contrast palette that photographs well, wears well, and gives any family’s furniture and art room to breathe. The result is a home that felt move-in ready without feeling generic — which, for a spec build, is exactly the right outcome.
